On Tuesday September 19th ten transition year students attended a Be Smart Internet Safety presentation at Trend Micro in Cork. Trend Micro is an international leader in internet content security software. Experts there equipped our students with the skills to inform their peers in school about appropriate and safe online behaviour . Over the next few weeks these TY students will meet year groups in interactive sessions and no doubt they will be of great benefit to the school community.
The Internet should be a place where you can talk, learn, shop, and share without worrying about your own safety or the security of personal information. You also want to be a good digital citizen and make responsible decisions about how you interact online. So you need to be smart about what you share and whom you share it with, as well as how you yourself behave.
Transition Year students recently attended a workshop on how you can stay safe, and how you can model responsible online behaviour.
